Old stuff

For my birthday, my friend Éric gave me a Mist FPGA board, a curious contraption that can emulate all kinds of old machines such as the CPC, Atari ST, Amiga, Spectrum, etc., without having to worry about installing a software emulator and, it seems, with greater fidelity to the original hardware. As far as I'm concerned, although I intend to take advantage of it to test the software library of the Atari and Amiga in particular, which I'm virtually unfamiliar with, I especially intend to take advantage of its MIDI sockets to immerse myself, as I did when I was twenty, in the delights of Cubase 3, which I used for a long time.

I also intend to learn about music software for the Amiga, such as Octamed.

As for the Amstrad CPC - which was my first machine and whose nostalgia I'll carry with me to my deathbed - I recently set myself a little mission: to upload to Archive.org as many screenshots as possible of my favorite games, such as Le Manoir de MortevielleSram 2La Secte NoireLe Maraudeur, trying to cover all the games in question. We also try to achieve the highest possible image quality.

To my knowledge, there is no similar initiative on the web. Sites like CPC Rulez or CPC Power offer a few screenshots for each game, but nothing more - but systematically archiving all screens of all games is obviously not their mission.

Still on the subject of the Amstrad CPC, I recently opened a YouTube channel called Amstrad Melodies, the humble and sole purpose of which is to offer the public music from my favorite games - I'm not aiming for "exhaustiveness" by any means - along with a few screenshots.
